I apologise
for not keeping but blog up to date, but this is the first time I've been
able to catch some spare time for a while.
I came back to the UK in January so I could prepare for the new season.
I knew that Edinburgh would be looking for a new captain, but I never thought
that they would ask me. I was over the moon when John Campbell called and
I accepted the role right away.
I started my UK career with Edinburgh in 2003 as a 17 year old straight out
of school. I was only supposed to come over and ride in their Conference
League and get a taste of UK racing, and I see the Captaincy as the next
step of my progress with the club.
It was a bad start to the season when in my very first race (at Kings Lynn)
I blew an engine. Things could only improve from there couldn't they? Since
then I feel my racing has been going well enough, but there's always room
for improvement.
More recently, we've been to Sheffield and Somerset where I had some decent
results. Last week I got my "Armadale" engine back from my tuner and had
my best home meeting of the year so far... lets hope I have lots more like
it. It was great to get a paid max as I had been struggling at home whilst
using a different engine.
June is probably going to be my quietest month of the season, I'm hoping
that the good weather will continue so I can get my Aussie tan back and have
some fun in the sun. |
